BIRMINGHAM, AL, November 4, 2019 – McAulay Smith successfully recruited Patrick Martino from his role as Plant Manager at PSEG’s Salem Nuclear Power Plant to take on the responsibility of being Plant Manager (one of two) at Vogtle 3&4, located near Waynesboro, GA.
In this role, he will be responsible for leading the Southern Nuclear team from fuel load through startup testing and plant operations. Martino will work with his counterpart Michael Page (see McAulay Smith’s related Press Release) to build and strengthen the organization to ensure it is ready to safely operate Vogtle 3&4.
Martino brings with him 19 years of experience from various roles of leadership to include Operations Director and Maintenance Director. Additionally, he earned a Senior Reactor Operation License in 2002.
Martino is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, where he earned a B.S. in Marine Engineering Systems (minored in Nuclear Engineering). He served in the Merchant Marine Reserves and U.S. Navy for 10 years. Later, he served as Shift Supervisor at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in New York, with oversight of the testing, training and maintenance of the reactor plant, support and safety systems.
